YST Pop Music Production and Arrangement Toolkit

Objectives 

This course helps learners to combine strategic thinking skills such as manpower planning, service excellence, and artistic vision that underpins the role of a pop music arranger and producer as well as acquiring the necessary technology adoption and innovation skills and technical skills e.g. business environment analysis required to execute a media production. These knowledge and experiences can help to enhance their own artistic pursuits in content management such as producing their own or their students’ media content.

Content

This course helps learners to develop the critical skills needed for music production. It will cover topics such as understanding the job scope of a music producer and arranger (e.g. collaborative practices with stakeholders across disciplines, applying critical listening skills, system thinking application), and the use of technology applications on the tools and techniques of arranging, producing, and creating songs. Learners will apply their skills in practical sessions of arranging and producing music in a collaborative setting.

Entry Requirements

Have some working experience in the music industry
or
Some music-related background (basic keyboard skills are preferred)
or/and
Passing of interview

  • Click ‘Browse Academic Modules/Short Courses’.
  • Select ‘Short Courses’ from the dropdown.
  • Click on the ‘By Faculty’ dropdown (first item under More Filters). Scroll to the bottom and select YST.
  • The list of our Short Courses should appear. Select your module and select ‘Add to Cart’.
  • Once you are done choosing modules (up to five), select ‘Checkout’.

You can then proceed to create an application account to submit your personal details.
