Course schedule: Thursdays, 9–11am (Semester 2, AY2024/25)
*Additional dates may be involved for projects/assessments during the semester period. Added make-up classes may also be scheduled due to public holidays coinciding with class dates.
Objectives
Music educators will find the current methods and pedagogical approaches to teaching music over the internet discussed in this course useful as they plan to better utilise the internet in their own music programmes. Learners will practise and apply their knowledge by teaching music students around the world in a variety of settings.
Content
The online component of teaching is an added advantage in today’s increasingly connected world. In the course, learners design online music lessons using various technological platforms and teaching methods. Overcoming the limitations of online teaching is also covered to address practicality issues.
