MUA3271: Acoustics and Sound Production for Performers (4 MCs)

*Additional dates may be involved for projects/assessments during the semester period of 12 Aug – 7 Dec 2024. Added make-up classes may also be scheduled due to public holidays coinciding with class dates.

Objectives
This course offers students introductory knowledge about audio and video production that related to their own instrument. The topics will include stereo recording techniques for solo instrument and ensemble, acoustics design for performing and practicing space, sound reinforcement for live performance, digital video and audio editing techniques.

Content
This course will help instrumentalists and teachers become more familiar with recording arts and live sound techniques. Learners will be equipped with knowledge of how to set up various technical equipment for different scenarios and editing with different softwares.
