ABOUT THE ARTIST
Shlomo Mintz is the 2021/22 Ong Teng Cheong Professor in Music at the YST Conservatory. He served as Distinguished Artist-in-Residence in the 2018 Singapore International Violin Competition. Considered by colleagues, audiences, and critics one of the foremost violinists of our time, Shlomo Mintz has long been acclaimed as a celebrated guest artist with many of the great orchestras and conductors on the international stage and continues to enchant audiences with his playing.
Awarded with many prestigious international prizes among others, the Diapason D’Or, the Grand Prix du Disque, the Gramophone Award and the Edison Award, in 2006 he received an Honorary Degree from the Ben-Gurion Universit, (Beersheba, Israel). He regularly gives masterclasses worldwide and is invited by the most prestigious international competitions.
