ABOUT THIS EVENT

Experience an intimate evening of Franz Schubert’s music by the YST String Ensemble, led by MMus students Choy Siew Woon, Ignatius Wang, Neville Ang and Koh Kai Jie.

This concert will open with Schubert’s Mass in G major, featuring soloists Alison Wong, Jin Qiuyaxu, Daniel Chong and Gerard Lim. The ensemble will also be joined by The Chorallective, a collective of singers who gather for choral music and its interdisciplinary possibilities with different musicians and artists each season, exploring the humanness that drives the act of musicking.

Concertmaster and soloist, Neville Athenasius Ang, will present Rondo in A major, which is widely regarded as the most technically demanding work in Schubert’s early violin music.

The concert will end with a flourish with selected movements from Gustav Mahler’s arrangement Schubert’s String Quartet ‘Death and the Maiden’.
