ABOUT THIS EVENT
In the 17th and 18th centuries, young men from the European nobility undertook a “Grand Tour” when they come of age, visiting various cities across the continent as a means of aristocratic education. This epic journey, often lasting several months or even years, exposed them to the cultural legacies and art traditions of the various cultures and provided them the unique opportunity to hear music from the different nations.
During this period of closed borders and restricted travel, let Red Dot Baroque, Ensemble-in-Residence at YST, take you on a grand musical tour of Baroque Europe! Discover the glorious sounds of period instruments and historically-informed performance as members of the group share the spotlight in various concerti, suites and improvisation. Itinerary includes Innsbruck, Venice, Nuremberg, Versailles and London!
