Chamber Singers: Saiko No Anime
April 9, 2025 • 7:30pm
Conservatory Concert Hall
Join the YST Chamber Singers for an evening of choral music appreciation, featuring works from a diverse repertoire of vocal ensemble performance.
Once a window to look into Japanese culture, ‘Anime’ used to be associated with subcultures of the teens and ‘Otaku’/geeks. Now, it is a global pop culture influencing many in not just cosplaying but also in arts and music. We choristers appreciate all the best music and stories found in the anime – probably many of which hold a special place for the nerds in our hearts. Beyond the fan favorites classics from Studio Ghibli, let us dive into music from ‘Suzume’, ‘Attack on Titan’, and ‘Evangelion’ to name a few. We might even throw in a couple tunes by J-pop dynamic Duo, YOASOBI for good measure. What’s YOUR favorite anime/ anime music? Come and explore with us this semester!
