ABOUT THIS EVENT
Associate Professor Albert Tiu and his “Tiudents” explore Rachmaninoff’s 8 Etudes-Tableaux, Op.33 in this pre-recorded Open Studio Class. These “study-pictures” combine the virtuosity needed to tackle Rachmaninoff’s complex piano writing with lush soundscapes, colors, and moods, ranging from brooding gloom to ethereal serenity, from yearning nostalgia to heroic defiance. The Tiudents’ performances, interspersed with commentary and analysis, will be broadcast on the Conservatory’s YouTube channel.
