ABOUT THIS EVENT

As part of the Orchestral Institute’s Concerto Prizewinner series, we Showcase three winners from YST’s 2022 Concerto Competition, who after a series of preliminary and final rounds within their instrumental family groupings were awarded an opportunity to perform with an orchestra within Singapore. On December 11, 2022, third-year pianists Cheryl Pandora & Viona Sanjaya were featured soloists with the Orchestra of the Music Makers, performing the Francis Poulenc Concerto for Two Pianos, at SOTA as part of OMM’s annual Orchestra Camp. Tonight we feature three outstanding students – coincidentally performing a set of concertos all infused with post-romantic nationalistic identities: Armenia via Aleksandr Arutiunian’s Concerto for Trumpet, Poland through Karol Szymanowski’s first Concerto for Violin, and Bohemia in AntonínDvořák’s beloved Cello Concerto. Come join us for an evening of YST student soloists as Nuttakamon, Meng and Jiaqi showcase their outstanding talents!
