Applying for Minor in Performing Arts
Note: The Minor in Performing Arts is not available for Music performance majors, unless they intend to pursue it in a non-music performing arts area (e.g. Dance)
I. Via Pathway A (Credit-Bearing Arts Group)
When to apply:
No later than the 4th semester of study in NUS
Pre-requisite:
For the application to be considered, students must have already completed CFA1101A/B Performing Arts in Practice 1, or are concurrently completing the course in the same semester as the application. Cohort 2022 students who have been exempted from CFA1101A/B may apply in the same semester as CFA2101A/B completion.
Application period:
Start of Reading Week to End of Exam Week 1
Application is to be submitted via myEduRec during the application period for restricted minors and second majors
Notification of results:
By end Dec (Sem 1) & by end June (Sem 2)
II. Via Pathway B (Individual)
(Applicable for Cohort 2023 onwards)
This pathway is for students who are involved in individual performing arts activities or genres that are not represented by any of the CFA credit-bearing arts groups.
When to apply:
No later than the 4th semester of study in NUS
Pre-requisite:
Students would be required to submit their performing arts CV, which should include a description of any experiences from the past 5 years that are relevant to their proposed performing arts area study.

Note: Dance applicants for individual pathway must first audition and be accepted into one of the non-credit bearing CFA dance groups: Ballroom, BreakiNUS, Dance Blast!, Dance Ensemble, Dance Synergy, D’Hoppers, Funkstyles, Ilsa Tari, Indian Dance, Jazzttitude, Viva latiNUS.

Notification of outcome:
By end Dec (Sem 1) & by end June (Sem 2)
Note:
Successful students will only be enrolled in the first core course CFA1111A/B Foundational Study in a Performing Arts Area in the following Semester 1. This means that if you are approved to declare the minor in Semester 2, your enrolment in CFA1111A/B will only begin in the subsequent Semester 1. But in the meantime, you may proceed to read other recognised courses.

Applying for Second Major in Performing Arts
Note: The Second Major in Performing Arts is not available for Music performance majors, unless they intend to pursue it in a non-music performing arts area (e.g. Dance)
I. Via Pathway A (Credit-Bearing Arts Group)
Interested applicants for the Second Major in Performing Arts (via Arts Groups Pathway) must apply in their 4th semester of study. They must also be enrolled in CFA2101A/B Performing Arts in Practice when applying.
Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview where they may be asked to share their initial idea for the capstone project in performing arts.
When to apply:
4th semester of study in NUS
*Students must be enrolled in CFA1101A/B in their 1st semester of study in order to be in time for application for Second Major in Performing Arts
Application period:
Mid-End April (Start of Reading Week to End of Exam Week 1)
Application is to be submitted via myEduRec during the application period for restricted minors and second majors
Interview (if required):
Early May
Notification of results:
By end June
II. Via Pathway B (Individual)
(Applicable for Cohort 2023 onwards)
Interested applicants for the Second Major in Performing Arts (via Individual Pathway) must first apply for the Minor in Performing Arts (via Individual Pathway) in their second semester of study and be enrolled in CFA1111A/B Foundational Study in a Performing Arts Area. They can then apply for the Second Major in their 4th semester of study.
Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview where they may be asked to share their initial idea for the capstone project in performing arts.
When to apply:
4th semester of study in NUS
*Students must be enrolled in CFA1111A/B in their 3rd semester of study in order to be in time for application for Second Major in Performing Arts (via Individual Pathway). To enrol in CFA1111A/B in their 3rd semester, students must first apply for the Minor in Performing Arts in their second semester of study.
Application period:
Mid-End April (Start of Reading Week to End of Exam Week 1)
Application is to be submitted via myEduRec during the application period for restricted minors and second majors
Interview (if required):
Early May
Notification of results:
By end June
