MARC ROCHESTER, presenter

ABOUT THIS EVENT
When Sir Stamford Raffles landed in Singapore in 1819, he set in motion processes which led to it becoming one of Southeast Asia’s most successful nations, as well as a musical powerhouse in the region and the world. In this forum presentation, Marc Rochester looks at how Western music first came to Singapore, and how Singapore has added its own unique style to an art form which is more usually associated with nations with histories longer than 200 years.
