ABOUT PATRICK STADLER
Patrick Stadler, born in Donaueschingen in 1985, is one of the most versatile saxophonists of our time. He works as a soloist as well as with various chamber music ensembles in the field of contemporary music and is always looking for new forms of expression. In doing so, he works closely with young and established composers and makes a significant contribution to the creation of new works. Numerous world premieres and international concert activities testify to his great commitment. He regularly performs at renowned festivals, such as the Donaueschingen Musiktage, Schwetzingen Festival, Lucerne Festival, Wien Modern and Darmstadt Ferienkurse.
In guest appearances with larger formations such as the Collegium Novum Zurich, Ensemble Phace, Klangforum Heidelberg and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, he has had the opportunity to work with Peter Eötvös, Clement Power, Emilio Pomarico, Peter Rundel and many more. He has performed as a soloist with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, Basel Chamber Orchestra, Basel Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonie of Central Switzerland and the Orchestre Tibor Varga Sion.
Patrick Stadler has participated in several CD productions and radio recordings in Germany, Belgium, France, Switzerland and Austria. With the internationally renowned ensemble Nikel he released four CDs and a DVD in 2017, documenting the activities of the four musicians of the past ten years. In 2019 his first Solo-CD with the complete recording of the 70 minute piece „necessità d’interrogare il cielo“ by the Italian composer Giorgio Netti will be released on the KAIROS Label.
Since 2015 he teaches at the music academy in Freiburg after previously work- ing as an assistant and representative of Prof. Marcus Weiss at the University of Music in Basel. In addition, he gives work- shops and master classes worldwide for saxophonists, composers and in chamber music.
