ABOUT THIS EVENT
What would happen if we reimagined some of the fantastic mythical creatures found on animal-shaped objects and created a musical narrative for an afternoon at the Asian’s Civilisations Museum?
In response to the youth-friendly An Explorer’s Guide to Fantastic Creatures at ACM, musicians from Yong Siew Toh Conservatory (YST) will unfold a new narrative of these ancient animal-shaped objects through music. Through the musicians’ rich musical imagination and creativity, these fantastic creatures will be renewed and brought to life!
On 11 November 2022, the live performance of Zoomorphic Muses will be complemented with the musicians’ transcriptions and reimaginations of animal-related musical excerpts from Saint Saen’s ‘The Carnival of Animals’, JS Bach’s ‘Coffee Cantata’, and Mahler’s first symphony, which quotes the ‘Brother John’ (Frère Jacques) theme!
